Update on using the new parking system

First, you need the information that is on the sign. The single sign, out on a pillar as you come from the guest parking lot. The information that would have been simple to include in the letter from Homestead, or in our Homestead accounts, but whatever.....

I took a picture of it so you won't have to go out in the cold to get the information you need.

To pay there are choices:

  1. There is an app referred to in the letter from Homestead but they didn't specify which of the apps with iStall in the name that we should be using. The reviews of the one that I looked at were awful. The app is buggy, it doesn't play nice using a google log-in, and the security of one's data was questioned. I passed on the app.
  2. You can go to the website referred to on the sign, set up an account, and pay for parking. This is what I did. And to make my life easier, I left a credit card on file (this is not required, you can enter that information each time.)
  3. You can text a phone number and follow the prompts. I'm lousy at texting so passed on that option.

You will need to know the number of the parking station. It is 8262. I'm not sure if 200 is the same as 185/195 but the website says it is for 185/195/200 Clearview.

You will need to know your guest's license plate.

The cost is $1 per hour or $7 per day. You enter how many hours you expect the guest will stay there. They got an extra dollar out of me since my grandson was cranky so my guests left early.

In theory, I'll receive a text message when it gets close to the end of the time I paid for (it's still 50 minutes until the time expires.)

There is a 5-minute grace time built in: I paid for 2 hours and it confirmed the car would be there from 5:15 until 7:20.
