December 2016

Hello here's a quick update from the IPTRA  (As usual, if you no longer wish to receive these emails, please let us know.)

The December Party is this Saturday (Dec. 17) from 3 - 5 p.m.

There will be live caroling, refreshments, and a chance to visit with your neighbours.

The IPTRA will be providing hot and cold beverages and 'healthy' foods.

If you have sweets or baking you'd like to share, please bring it for the pot-luck sweets table.

Everyone is welcome!

Summary of the Fire Safety Meeting November 23

There's a full summary of points from the meeting, attached.

But of all those, the most important is practice your route out of the building. The fire stairwells can take you places in the building you've not been before.  Take the time to walk down the stairs and out of the building from each of the stairwells (or at least as far as the door to outside). In an emergency, you want to know where to go. To do this, you don't have to walk down from the 22nd floor; take the elevator to the second floor and walk down from there. Taking 10 minutes to do this may save your life in a real fire.

Imagine cross-country skiing to work downtown!

There are new cross country and snowshoeing trails being groomed along the Sir John A MacDonald Parkway. The trails run from Westboro Beach to the War Museum, with additional loop ski trails. For a map and info, check out the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SJAM.Winter.Trail
I know at least one resident of IPT is helping with the grooming of these trails. Check them out - just one more reason to be happy we live in such a great location.

We continue to work on communicating with residents through the mail room IPTRA notice boards,
the Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/IPTRA/  and the
www.IPTRA.org website, as well as these emails.

If you would like to volunteer to help with communications, we'd love to hear from you.

We wish you a safe and healthy Christmas holiday and all the best in 2017.
