February 2017
A quick three things:
1. Saturday February 4. Information session with Seniors on Site (the home support company) now in lobby of 195 (that's a change from the previous newsletter) from 10 - 10:30 a.m. This company offers home support services. Please keep this in mind, if not to help you age-in-place but perhaps for an elderly neighbour requiring help. Kathryn Holman has the contact information and brochures if you feel you might want to broach the subject with a neighbour some time in the future.
2. Don't forget the Annual Book/CD/DVD Exchange in the lobby of 200, March 11, 2 – 4 p.m.
3. It appears the Landlord is heading back to the Landlord Tenant Board for another above-guideline increase. Some residents have already received their notices of a 4.6% increase. This is a reminder that the IPTRA will not be doing advocacy, including organizing tenants to fight this increase but will share our mailing list to start anyone wanting to organize, and we will also offer the use of our tables and chairs for meetings. If you are interested in leading the fight, please send us an email and we'll meet with you to get you started.
